In the summer of 2014, Whitney Sargent was researching vegan protein bars to fit her needs and tried NuGo bars for the first time. Since then, she learned that she is gluten intolerant and has become a self-proclaimed “fan for life” of NuGo Dark. Whitney is pursuing a Doctorate of Pharmacy at the University of New England, where she is captain of the Equestrian Team. She is also very active in the gym (lifting and cardio) to help supplement her riding fitness.
Emily Nicole Manganaro is a 17-year-old high school senior. She is a dual-enrollment student, meaning that she also takes college classes online. She will have completed nearly a full year of college when she graduates high school this year. In the fall, she will attend either La Roche College, just north of Pittsburgh, or Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, where she will major in psychology and minor in sociology. She hopes to eventually earn a PhD in Psychology or a MD in Psychiatry.
Jennifer Garcia is an attorney who competes in triathlons and loves running. She is licensed as an attorney in Michigan and is currently studying for the Colorado Bar. She won the Racing Underground Sprint Series for her age group two years in a row and placed in the top 10% in the Ironman All World Athlete.
Eighth grader Alexys Matcuk has been competitively swimming since she was four-years-old. She is now a USA Sanctioned swimmer and swims with Arizona Gold, one of the best swim clubs in the country. Alexys swims six days a week for at least two hours per day. She swims all strokes, but her favorite is breaststroke.
When Ian Moses was a senior in high school, he became hooked on eating NuGo Family Vanilla Yogurt, Chocolate, and Peanut Butter Chocolate because they reminded him of a better alternative to rice crispy treats. Now, as a junior marketing major at St. Johns University in New York, his favorite flavors are NuGO STRONGER Caramel Pretzel and Cookies ‘N Cream.
Jamie Brooks and her 9-year-old son Dylan lead a very active lifestyle and love gluten-free NuGo Dark. Four years ago, Jamie was the 4th nationally ranked racewalker for the 5K distance. Jamie explained how she now balances teaching math at Penn State and being a full time student working on her doctorate in Educational Leadership at Liberty University with running, biking, and parenting.
