NuGo Athlete of the Month: Grant Grosvenor

Olympic track and field hopeful Grant Grosvenor recently graduated from the University of Oregon, where he won a National title in the Distance Medley Relay. In June, Grant competed in the 2016 Olympic Trials in the 800m. In July, Grant competed in the 800m Run Gum Straight 8. Grant’s goal is to become a professional runner and make an Olympic Team.

“Winning this event was exhilarating and I have never been more proud to represent my team, the program and everyone who has helped me throughout the years. Our team ended up also winning the NCAA Indoor National’s Team Title (2016),” explained Grant.

He started running in second grade. Grant's motivation was a desire to break the mile record at his elementary school. “The times were posted on the gym wall on a giant sign spanning about 30 feet across,” he said. Two times per year they raced the mile in P.E. class, and between 2nd and 5th grade, Grant broke every mile record available. He is from Mill Creek, WA and is now 24 years old.

“Running for the University of Oregon and posting a #7 All-Time mark in the 800 was remarkably gratifying. Along with the event National Title as well as the Team National Title, I could not be more proud to be a Duck and help contribute to the historic success with the University of Oregon’s Track and Field program,” exclaimed Grant.

Grant’s favorite bar is NuGo Family Vanilla Yogurt. “I use them as a snack before I race! I also must have one at the end of every run or training session because they hit the spot and the amount of protein is perfect,” said Grant.

Outside of running, Grant loves fishing, exploring the outdoors, hiking, and rafting. Grant has also gone skydiving and looks forward to doing more skydiving in the future. Grant recently began working at Nike, where he works with their social media accounts and reaches out to consumers. He will be competing professionally during his time at Nike.
