NuGo Athlete of the Month: Michelle Kasold

Olympic field hockey athlete Michelle Kasold began playing field hockey when she was in sixth grade, following in her mom’s footsteps. Now at the age of 27, she recently returned from competing in the 2014 World Cup for field hockey in The Hague, Netherlands, where the US team placed fourth. Michelle competed in the London 2012 Olympics and is training for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Before making the US National Team in 2006, she was on the Under-16 and Under-21 teams. She has been training and playing field hockey full time with the National Team since graduating from Wake Forest University in 2009. The team travels to compete in amazing places around the world.

NuGO Slim is the line of choice for Michelle. She loves all the flavors, especially Crunchy Peanut Butter. Michelle said, “I brought all my NuGo bars with me to the World Cup and they definitely helped! I ate them all throughout the three week block that we were there.” She shared her excitement about finally finding a protein bar for her needs. “It has been very difficult to find any protein bars that aren’t loaded with sugar and carbs and things that my body isn’t used to breaking down,” explained Michelle.

She leads a very active lifestyle. Michelle loves to be outdoors, enjoying everything from hiking to trying new sports. She enjoys DIY projects, trying new recipes, and spending quality time with her adorable dog. Keep up with Michelle Kasold on her exciting field hockey journey by reading her blog and following her on Twitter and Instagram.
