NuGo Fan of the Month: Vida Wein

Six years ago, Vida discovered vegan NuGo protein bars. She was looking for a tasty protein-rich vegan bar to eat on moving day, and a clerk recommended NuGo bars to her. Well from the moment she tasted the first one, she was hooked on the delicious taste and the clean ingredients. This is very important to her because she has IBS. Vida is super limited in foods she can consume without worrying of the consequences. Luckily, NuGo Dark is one of the few bars she can eat that doesn’t give her a stomachache.

Vida’s favorite flavor is NuGo Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip. She also enjoys NuGo Dark Mint Chocolate Chip, while her son loves NuGo Dark Chocolate Pretzel. They help keep her going after the gym and between meals. Her son, a college student, loves them as snacks during his work day, after the gym or before bed. Together, Vida and her son eat about four NuGo bars per day!

Vida has been working as a Psychotherapist for 36 years, specializing in eating disorders, anxiety, and relationship challenges we have with ourselves, children, significant others, friends and work place relationships. She shared her philosophy on a healing relationship with food and how NuGo bars can help.

“As a therapist and a specialist in eating disorders I know how tough it can be for a person to make intelligent choices about food. Part of healing ones relationship with food is by learning to see the body as a temple. One which we need to honor and respect with positive actions. Part of that is feeding ourselves healthy nourishing foods such as NuGo bars. The ingredients are clean and wholesome. Also heads up to people with sensitive guts, if I can eat this and feel good, I bet others can as well. I have an abundance of food allergies and can eat NuGo bars with no worries. My son is a cancer survivor. He too is very particular about what he eats and also happens to be vegan. He really enjoys NuGo bars and has for years.”

In addition to weight lifting, biking, and walking, she enjoys going to the gym with her son. They have a great time laughing, and she appreciates his support with her exercise regimen.
