NuGo Fan of the Month: Kristin "Fit Hiit Mama" Panagiotopoulos

As a busy mom of four kids under the age of five, Kristin knows the importance of nourishing herself and her family with healthy snacks. Kristin’s family eats NuGo bars on a daily basis. She has a Fiber d’Lish bar almost every day. She enjoys Fiber d’Lish warmed up on cold cottage cheese, yogurt, or frozen greek yogurt. Kristin also loves warming up Fiber d’Lish and slathering some peanut butter or almond butter on top.

When Kristin was pregnant and starving while shopping at Whole Foods, she found Fiber d’Lish Chocolate Brownie at the register and decided to try it. She immediately fell in love and ordered a box online when she got home. However, she couldn’t wait until her order arrived to eat more Fiber d’Lish bars, so she went back to the store the next day to buy more, and this time tried NuGo Dark too.

Kristin loves that NuGo bars are not sweetened with artificial sweeteners. When she is pregnant or breastfeeding, it is super important to her what she puts in her body. “I didn't want anything with any sucralose, Splenda, stevia, or monk fruit which is very hard to find these days in protein bars,” said Kristin.

Her favorite flavors are Fiber d’Lish, NuGo Dark Chocolate Pretzel, and NuGo Dark Peanut Butter Cup. Kristin said, “I'm a busy mom of 4 and rarely have a moment to sit and eat a meal so I am always reaching for NuGo Dark Chocolate Pretzel bars at home or when I'm out on the go! My kids love the dark chocolate line as well and are always asking for a bite of mine! My husband grabbed a bar for work one day, and I ended up having to order him a couple boxes the next day to take with him! Three of my four kids eat the NuGo Dark and Fiber d'Lish bars.”

Before becoming a full time stay-at-home mom, Kristin owned and operated a private speech and language pathology practice for almost 9 years. She used to be a runner until it began to take a toll on her body and she found a passion for Hiit, high intensity interval training. She also weight trains and workouts as often as her children allow, usually 5-6 days per week.

Vegan NuGo Banana Nice Cream Recipe by Fit Hiit Mama

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cashew milk
  • 3/4 Fiber d'Lish bar
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon

Blend and top with 1/4 Fiber d'Lish bar
